Q. What happens at an event?
A. Our events are a fun, social, group setting, where our artist will guide you step by step in replicating the featured painting. By the end of the session YOU will create a fabulous piece of artwork to take home! The event times vary, but you should expect 2 – 3 hours to complete.
Q. I have never painted, is that ok?
A. Of course it is ok! Most of our guests have never painted, and during the event we will guide you through the featured painting and help you learn to paint. Will it be worth millions and exactly like the original? Probably not, but you will take home a memory that YOU created and have a piece of art unique to you!
Q. Do I need to sign up in advance?
A. We recommend signing up in advance because of limited seating, most of our events will sell out. You can register on the website or give us a call and we will be happy to walk you through the registration process.
Q. What is the cost?
A. The prices range between $30-$40 depending on the painting. Private parties can be less depending on the painting and timeframe you choose, and depending on the number of participants.
Q. What is included in the price?
A. We provide the artist (instructor), canvas, paint, brushes, easels, aprons, and cleanup. We will also provide refreshments to attendees at our public events. If you desire a snack or something other than what we provide, feel free to bring one.
Q. Do I take the painting home at the end of the party?
A. Yes, acrylic (water-based) paint dries quickly.
Q. What kind of paint do you use?
A. We use non-toxic acrylic paint. Acrylic paint is water-based, which means it will wash off with warm water and soap.
Q. What do I wear?
A. We provide aprons, but you may want to wear something you wouldn't mind getting paint on.....just in case! We are not responsible for clothing that gets paint on it.
Q. What time do I need to arrive for an event?
A. We recommend arriving 15 minutes early to get signed in, apron on, and seated.
Q. What is your cancellation policy?
A. We do allow cancellations or reschedules, but we do require a 48 hour notice. Cancellations should be made via email or by phone. This provides us the opportunity to fill the space. We will provide a full refund, or reschedule you with 48 hours notice. We will charge the event fee for reservations not cancelled 48 hours in advance. Public events are subject to cancellation without a minimum of 6 attendees. Cancellations are very rare and customers will be notified via phone if we have to cancel a scheduled class, and refunded full amount.
Q. When does the new schedule come out?
A. Please check our webpage frequently, we will continually update it as we add new events. We try to schedule our events 1 month ahead so you can plan your schedule.

Q. How many people do I need for a Private Event?
A. Please contact us and let's discuss the type of event you are looking for. Generally we require a minimum of 5 people for private events. Also, we are able to structure the painting around your event, need, or timeframe. We have an extensive list of available paintings to choose from.
Q. How far will you travel for a Private Event or Team Building Event?
A. We are located in Bishop California, contact us for distance and pricing for areas in Inyo and Mono Counties outside Bishop.
Q. Is there a minimum age required for Paint It Away?
A. At our standard scheduled events (16x20 more involved painting), we would like to have children be at least 10 or 11, and be accompanied by a parent or guardian to ensure that everyone has a productive and fun time. Children in the adult classes should be able to follow instructions, and stay attentive for 2-3 hours. In our kids scheduled events (12x12 kid friendly painting), we recommend children age 7 and up.
